TULARE, Calif. – May 27, 2024 – Three young women will compete for the prestigious title of Dairy Princess during the District 5 South Dairy Princess contest on June 21, 2024, at the International Agri-Center.
This year's contestants are Madelyn Movsesian and Lilyanah Ribeiro both of Tulare, and Jamison Blanchard of Visalia.
Madelyn is the daughter of John Movsesian and Anna Clinkenbeard. She is a junior at Tulare Western High School and is an active member of the Tulare Future Farmers of America, where she is on the Milk Quality and Dairy Foods Career Development Team. She is serving as Chapter Secretary, and is also on the Vine Pruning Team and Vine Judging Team. Madelyn is also on the Tulare Western Volleyball Team and is involved with her community through numerous activities. She hopes to attend Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to major in Agricultural Business.
Lilyanah, daughter of Michael and Tania Ribeiro, is a junior at Tulare Western High School. She was born and raised on her family’s dairy, Ribeiro Dairy Farm, which gave her the passion she has for the dairy industry. She has shown dairy cattle through 4-H and Future Farmers of America, and has worked for the family dairy in the office. Lilyanah is the current Sequoia Section Future Farmers of America President and has previously held the office of Vice President. She is very active in her community and church and is a member of the youth performance group, Luso America. Lilyanah would like to attend Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to pursue a degree in agriculture.
Jamison is the daughter of Jeffrey and Shannon Blanchard. She is a junior at El Diamante High School and plans to attend Texas A&M to pursue a degree in Agriculture Law with a minor in Animal Science. Jamison was raised on her family’s dairy, Lawrence Dairy, and has been heavily involved within the agriculture industry. She has shown dairy heifers through both 4-H and Future Farmers of America. She is on the Future Farmers of America Dairy Judging Team and is serving as Chapter Secretary. She is also Senior Queen for the Saint Anthony Pismo Beach Portuguese Festa.
The young lady crowned as Dairy Princess will represent the dairy industry in Tulare, Inyo, and Mono counties. She will serve the area as an ambassador for the dairy industry with various audiences. The newly selected princess and her alternate will participate in mandatory training, provided by the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB), where they will receive professional development coaching.
